Anne
Teachworth, CGC, FAPA, CPC, Gestalt Counselor, Certified
Matchmaker, Fellow of the American Psychotherapy Assn.,
Certified Psychogenetics Coach, is the Founder and Director
of the Gestalt Institute of New Orleans/New York.
She is in private practice in New Orleans at 1537 Metairie
Road and in New York City at 315 Central Park West. She
currently has a Psychogenetic Training Program in both
cities.
Anne received her Fellowship Diploma from the Gestalt
Institute of Houston in 1977 and founded the Gestalt
Institute of New Orleans/New York, Inc. Anne has
conducted workshops and trainings here and all over the
United States, Canada, Mexico, Israel, and Europe.
In 1978, Anne began studying Neurolinguistic Programming
with Richard Bandler, co-developer of NLP. In 1980, Anne
began teaching The Flirting Class in New Orleans for
singles. In 1987, she and Richard Bandler made a one and a
half hour color video tape entitled
THE ART OF FLIRTATION. It was Anne's
work with singles that led her to research their attraction
and selection patterns, develop her Psychogenetics System
and write her popular book in 1996,

For over 26 years, Anne has trained and supervised hundreds
of Gestalt Therapists in the art, theory, skills and ethics
of counseling. She sponsored and co-led Gestalt workshops in
New York with one of her teachers, the late Laura Perls,
co-developer of Gestalt Therapy. For the past twenty-five
years, Anne has maintained a full-time, private practice in
New Orleans and now has a growing practice in New York. Anne Teachworth has presented workshops in many places
around the world including in New York at The Relationship
Center, at the Gestalt Institute of San Francisco, Long
Island, New York, Seattle, and the Institute of Humanistic
Psychology in Eschweiler, Germany. |
Anne taught as a staff member of the Gestalt Institute of
Haifa in Israel for three years. She also taught at the DiMele Center, and
at the Gestalt Therapy Institute in New York. Teachworth is
a Fellow of the American Psychotherapy Association, an Associate
Member of the New York Institute for Gestalt Therapy, a
past Board Member of the Louisiana Group Psychotherapy Society,
and a member of the Association for the Advancement of Gestalt
Therapy. She is also a member of the Redecision Association,
the International Transactional Analysis Association, the
American Group Psychotherapy Association, and the American
Society for Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama.
Fifteen years ago, while Anne was specializing in couple counseling,
she
developed a new transgenerational couple and parenting
counseling approach she named THE PSYCHOGENETICS SYSTEM. Anne
presented this new approach in 1995 at the 1st AAGT Conference
(Association for the Advancement of Gestalt Therapy) in New
Orleans. She also presented at the European Association for
Gestalt Conference in Italy in 1998, the World Conference of
Psychotherapy in Vienna in 1999, and at numerous Transactional
Analysis, Redecision, Gestalt and NLP
conferences around the world.
A chapter on her work entitled THREE COUPLES TRANSFORMED
first appeared in a book of Gestalt case studies, A LIVING
LEGACY TO FRITZ AND LAURA PERLS, edited by Bud Feder and
Ruth Ronall, and published in 1996. Anne's most popular book
is
